Key responsibilities for the Sales Manager:
1. Generate new business opportunities, upsell and cross-sell consultancy services
2. Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to exceed performance expectations
3. Consistently achieve and exceed challenging sales targets aligned with growth goals
4. Build and maintain strong client relationships through meetings, events, and presentations
5. Represent sales at senior meetings and support strategy delivery with the Director
6. Manage sales budgets, pipeline, forecasts, and reporting
7. Oversee CRM processes, ensuring accurate pipeline and activity data
8. Collaborate with marketing to shape campaigns and provide market insights
9. Act as an ambassador at events, exhibitions, and industry forums
10. Support proposition and pricing strategy development with competitive market insights
11. Ensure high standards in proposals, presentations, and client communications
Skills and Experience required for the Sales Manager:
12. Proven sales management experience within energy, technical services, or consultancy; knowledge of the agricultural sector is desirable
13. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a small team
14. Proven track record in consultative, solution-based sales
15. Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth
16. Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, confident presenting to groups
17. Skilled in creating and executing sales plans aligned to strategic objectives
18. Commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and developing pricing strategies
19. Comfortable working in fast-changing markets and launching into new sectors
20. Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities
21. Proficient in CRM systems and MS Office (Excel/Word essential, advanced Excel desirable)
22. Full clean driving licence
