Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and patient-centred General Practitioner (GP) to join our new, forward-thinking private medical practice. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive and compassionate GP to deliver high-quality, personalised care in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment — free from the time constraints of NHS practice.
Our practice benefits from a dedicated partner laboratory offering direct diagnostic services with same-day turnaround, ensuring timely and accurate clinical assessments. In addition, access to our on-site research and development facility offers scope for professional growth and the opportunity to pursue clinical interests or research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide private GP consultations (face-to-face, telephone, or video) for acute, chronic, and preventative care.
* Support patients in achieving their best possible health through personalised care and guidance.
* Participate in service development, including innovative approaches to preventive care and health optimisation.
* Deliver a high standard of patient care with a focus on service, accessibility, and continuity.
* Conduct health assessments, screenings, and well-person checks.
* Diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions, referring to specialists as required.
* Carry out private prescriptions, referrals, and medical certifications (e.g., fit-to-fly, visa, occupational health).
* Maintain detailed, accurate, and secure patient records using Semble Practice Management System.
* Provide advice on lifestyle, health optimisation, travel medicine, and vaccinations.
* Support the delivery of additional private services (e.g., hormone therapy, sexual health, men’s/women’s health).
* Ensure compliance with GMC, RQIA, and private healthcare regulations.
* Participate in business development opportunities (if applicable), including client retention and service innovation.
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* Minimum 3 years post-CCT experience in general practice.
* Indemnity cover suitable for private medical work.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent patient care.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends (if required).
* Prior experience working in private healthcare (e.g., BUPA, Nuffield, independent clinics).
* Subspecialty interests (e.g., Rheumatology, Women’s health, Sports medicine, wellness/lifestyle medicine).
* Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing private patient services.
* Familiarity with private health insurers and corporate healthcare.
