Vacancies have arisen for Catering Assistants within the authority’s Dumbarton and Alexandria area. Preference of location will be discussed at the interview.
The post holder will require to assist in the day today operational requirements of the catering service within this premise as required. The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations, compliance with all the relevant legislation as required and setting up / clearing away equipment for food service. The post holder’s duties will include general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.
Applicants must hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or similar
qualification as this is an essential requirement.
The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislations would be an advantage as would previous experience in this type of work.
