Overview
Parademic or Nurse, Non Medical Prescriber - Urgent & Emergency Care. The role involves the assessment, treatment and discharge of scheduled and unscheduled urgent cases and the initial treatment and referral of emergency cases in patients of all ages. The post holder will use their non-medical prescribing qualification to support patient care according to the local formulary. As senior clinicians they will also support staff who issue medications via PGD with their prescribing decisions. The post holder will take charge of the day-to-day running of the UTC and in the absence of the operations manager will manage general enquiries, staffing issues, complaints and support junior staff as required. Induction and training will be provided. SWASFT will provide medical indemnity. This is an evolving role within the Trust as is subject to change and development as required by the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Autonomous assessment, treatment and discharge of adults and children presenting a wide range of minor injuries and minor illnesses in accordance with local policies and national clinical guidelines
* Day-to-day running of the Urgent Care Treatment Centre
* Ensure that all patients\' individual needs are assessed on admissions, their care planned appropriately, delivered in accordance with best practice and evaluated
* Assist the Operations Manager to improve patient care and deputise in their absence
