We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Network Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain hands‑on experience in the design, build, and delivery of critical network infrastructure projects
To support Critical National Infrastructure, you may be required to complete a Security Check (SC clearance)
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and configure network infrastructure solutions as part of project deliver
* Support the implementation of routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN technologies across multi‑vendor environment
* Assist with remote builds, staging, and deployment of customer solution
* Work closely with project managers to deliver projects on time, ensuring technical requirements are met
* Perform testing, validation, and documentation of deployed solution
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project implementation
* Participate in change activities, including out‑of‑hours work where required
* Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure successful project outcome
* Produce and maintain build guides and handover documentation
What do I need
* The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in networking or IT infrastructure, with a keen interest in hands‑on engineering and project deliver
* A CCNA qualification or equivalent (e.g. Juniper or similar certification) is highly desirabl
* You will need the following skill: Hands‑on or lab‑based experience with routing and switching technologi
* Familiarity with Cisco IOS / IOS‑XE and enterprise networking hardwa
* Also a good understanding of Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, VLANs, Spanning Tre)
* Layer 3 technologies (OSPF, BGP, subnetting, ACLs, VRF)
* Exposure to firewalls and security appliances (configuration, upgrades, policie)
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skil
* Ability to interpret technical designs and translate them into build/configuration tas
* Good communication skills for working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholde
* Experience or exposure to multi‑vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Aru)
* Knowledge of SD‑WAN technologies or modern network architectu PN)Understanding of network security princip
