FT Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a new client, an accountancy firm who are expanding its presence into Aberdeen and is seeking an Audit / Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing and growing their new office. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional who enjoys combining client‑facing work, business development, and hands‑on operational activity.
As part of this role, you will work closely with colleagues across our UK offices, receiving audit work delivered to the Aberdeen team while also helping to shape the commercial direction and long‑term success of the local practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Actively support the growth and expansion of the Aberdeen office, helping to establish its market presence
* Attend and lead client meetings, building strong, long‑term relationships
* Participate in business development activities, including networking, proposals, and identifying new opportunities
* Manage and deliver audit assignments passed across from other UK offices, ensuring high‑quality and timely completion
* Oversee operational and commercial activities, including workflow coordination and team collaboration
* Work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm to align Aberdeen office objectives with the wider business strategy
* Provide guidance and support to junior team members as the office grows
About You
* CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or nearing qualification
* Proven experience in audit, with strong commercial awareness
* Confident in client interaction and comfortable representing the firm externally
* Experience or genuine interest in business development and office growth
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams across the UK
