Working within our reactive Customer Network Operations Department, you will join the Distribution Service Delivery team as a County Distribution Service Technician, responsible for the operation and maintenance of Hafren Dyfrdwy's Underground Network Infrastructure. You will be involved in daily tasks to aid the inspection, improvement and repair of our assets, such as routine maintenance on key equipment, mains cleansing & flushing, disinfection of mains, tracing mains & apparatus and identifying contamination risks. You will also communicate with customers or members of the public as a first point of contact and coordinate with different departments within the business and with our contract partners. Throughout your time with the team you will be dedicated to providing the best possible service of potable drinking water to our customers and you will follow the Distribution vision Statement: "Great people working in a safe, Proactive operation and maintenance Organisation. Delivering excellent customer service at least cost."

Responsibilities
* Understand and contribute to the delivery of the section's Operational Delivery Instructions (ODI's) and be effectively deployed throughout the working day, keeping your Supervisor/Team Leader up to speed with activity.
* Work to and improve safe systems of work, review working practices, methods and procedures, and notify the team leader/supervisor of required alterations. Strive to improve the section by sharing ideas with Network Operations Management.
* Actively participate in special projects for the department, such as hard flushing and any maintenance project of the Network system, and engage with leakage investigations at any level and deploy data loggers, flow or pressure management technology.
* Perform duties in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards (e.g., hygiene, NRSWA and environmental).
* Deliver an effective leakage detection service, including DMA (District Metered Area) ownership and validation under DMA Improvements. Trial, monitor and report on new technology and methods with training and support for implementation across the business.
* This role involves indoor and outdoor work in all weathers. You will need a full UK driving licence as you will be required to travel to depots/bases. You will also be part of a rolling 7-week shift pattern (24/7, 365).
