Are you ready for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a band six nurse or a band five looking for a new challenge to work in the Surgical Assessment Unit in Bath. Join us as we undergo many exciting changes! We are a fifteen-bed inpatient ward with a same-day emergency care assessment area, eleven trolleys, and a waiting room. Our commitment is to high-quality, patient-focused care in a fast-paced environment. We seek a passionate nurse to lead and manage a team, effectively running the front door area and managing surgical inpatient flow.
Experience and Qualifications
* Essential: Experience at band 5 level on a surgical ward.
* Desirable: Knowledge of ward coordination, teaching qualification.
You must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to prioritize and problem-solve. The role requires working day shifts, night shifts, and weekends.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Patient Care Responsibilities:
o Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care programs within team nursing.
o Coordinating the ward liaising with various hospital departments.
o Managing discharge arrangements involving other agencies.
2. Professional Development and Education:
o Promoting and maintaining an effective learning environment.
o Ensuring new starters complete induction.
3. Research and Development Responsibilities:
o Promoting evidence-based nursing practice.
o Participating in reviewing and implementing research.
4. Audit, Quality, and Risk Management:
o Setting and monitoring standards of care.
o Ensuring staff are aware of quality issues like Clinical Governance.
5. Resource Management:
o Demonstrating effective budgeting and resource use.
o Developing partnerships with finance and HR departments.

Person Specification
Qualifications: Essential: Registered Adult Nurse. Desirable: 3 years experience, HR courses.
