Position Summary
To carry out a range of NDT inspection techniques on components, pipework and structural assemblies etc, in order to establish acceptability to specification
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Carry out the most effective NDT techniques to components requiring inspection.
2. Ensure that work area is safe to carry out NDT activities.
3. Carry out risk assessments/Take II as required.
4. Ensure NDT equipment function tests are performed according to the procedure and any faulty equipment is detailed back to the supervisor.
5. Ensure inspection is carried out within the parameters of the applicable specification.
6. Evaluate results of the test in accordance with applicable specification
7. Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods used in and results of the inspection and all finding noting any limitations / test restrictions is applicable.
8. Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires
9. Carry out work in accordance with Oceaneering operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements
10. When performing profile radiography ensure that a minimum of two exposures at 90 degrees are applied. Detail any limitations in reports with photographic evidence.
11. Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods used in and results of the inspection and all finding noting any limitations / test restrictions is applicable. Ensure any areas of high density are communicated to supervision.
12. Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Management
13. Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
Qualifications
REQUIRED
14. Valid NDT Qualifications
15. PCN Level 2 Radiography
16. PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle
17. PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant
18. IT literate
19. Microsoft Word proficient
20. Microsoft Excel proficient
21. Valid Driving Licence
DESIRED
22. Further NDT qualifications
23. Considerable experience in NDT
24. RPS
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
25. Ability to read, analyses, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of technicians.
26. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
27. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
28. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.
