CNC Miller / CNC Turner – West Byfleet
Salary: £18–19.50 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am‑4:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate CNC milling machines using Heidenhain and Siemens controls
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances (micron‑level where required)
- Work from detailed engineering drawings including GD&T specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters and machining strategies
- Machine a range of materials including steels, stainless steels and exotic alloys
- Conduct first‑off inspection and in‑process checks using precision measuring equipment
- Ensure all parts meet strict quality and customer specifications
- Optimise programs and processes to improve cycle times while maintaining quality
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs or setups accordingly
- Maintain machines and ensure safe operation
- Collaborate with quality and engineering teams for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Turner in a precision engineering environment
- Strong experience using Heidenhain and/or Siemens controls
- Ability to machine complex components to tight tolerances
- Experience with 3‑axis and/or 5‑axis machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Strong understanding of cutting tools and machining strategies
- Experience with inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
