Project administrator

St Andrews (Fife)
University of St Andrews
Project administrator
Posted: 14 February
Offer description

We are looking for a well-organised and enthusiastic Project Administrator to support an exciting international project focused on improving the sustainability of Guinea fowl farming across Africa.

The project, based in Scotland will connect farmers, researchers and organisations in seven African countries through a shared knowledge-exchange platform. It takes a farmer-led approach, making sure information flows both ways and that people can take part whether they have access to the internet, radio, or in-person meetings. There is strong interest and energy for this work within partner farming communities.

Working closely with the project team and international partners, you will be part of the project from the outset, helping with project set up and its smoot running. This will include helping to set up and update the project website, coordinating online events and meetings, supporting in-country engagement delivered by local partners, and helping share project activities and outputs through communication and media channels. You will also manage schedules, project documents and day-to-day communications across the network.

You will be organised, reliable and have a strong commitment to EDI principles and practice. Experience in an administrative or project support role is helpful, and confidence with websites or online platforms would be an advantage. An interest in sustainability, food production or community-focused work is welcome. This role offers a chance to contribute to a practical, meaningful project with real-world impact for farming communities across Africa.

Employees of the University have access to a wide range of staff benefits including:

* Membership of the S&LAS Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions
* A hybrid working environment, including partial homeworking where appropriate and a range of family friendly policies, supporting work-life balance
* Staff discount scheme for local and national goods and services
* Free staff parking, employee Carshare and Cycle to Work Schemes and subsidised local bus travel
* Subsidised sports membership, reduced tuition fees on degree programmes for staff, access to training and development opportunities including LinkedIn Learning, access to library facilities, salary sacrifice scheme
* 30 Days Annual Leave plus 5 Public Holidays.
