JOB TITLE: Contracts Manager

Role Overview:
TEXO Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our external client, a well-established civil engineering, multi-utility and directional drilling company, who are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidate will take a key leadership role, managing multiple civil engineering contracts from pre-construction through to completion. This position requires a proactive and commercially aware professional who can ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while maintaining the highest quality and client satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the delivery of multiple civil engineering contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and HSE requirements.
* Lead project planning, programming, and coordination of labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Provide timely and accurate reporting on project milestones, costs, resourcing, and HSE performance.
* Assist with tender reviews, contract negotiations, and development of delivery strategies.
* Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all projects.
* Support, mentor, and develop site teams to maintain performance, morale, and adherence to company standards.
* Monitor staff performance and carry out appraisals.
* Agree and deliver on KPI’s and annual targets.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a senior project management role within the civil engineering and/or multi-utility sector.
* Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering civil engineering projects.
* Strong understanding of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
* In-depth knowledge of construction methods, planning, and HSE regulations.
* Commercially astute with excellent contractual and financial awareness.
* Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and within a team.
* Full UK driving licence (Essential).
* Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions (no sponsorship available).
* Technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Beneficial).
