QTS English Teacher
* Annual Salary: Teachers Main/Upper pay scales + SEN Allowance
* Location: Lewes/Newhaven
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking to appoint outstanding and energetic English Teacher to join our team at a Special Educational Needs School in rural Lewes and Newhaven. This role is ideal for an English specialist capable of delivering both GCSE and Functional Skills level education. It would be desirable for candidates to have the flexibility to deliver additional subjects.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to students with complex behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties.
* Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
* Use a variety of teaching strategies to promote engagement and learning.
* Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback.
* Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
* Update all necessary records accurately as required by school policies.
* Participate in meetings with colleagues and parents relative to the progress of students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience in teaching English at both GCSE and Functional Skills levels.
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with complex behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties.
* Proven ability to manage classes effectively and adopt an inclusive teaching approach.
* Excellent communication and motivational skills.
* Willingness to teach additional subjects is desirable.
