First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Workshop Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Carries out routine pre delivery inspections of new machines.
2. Fits both factory approved and local supplied extras to machines where required.
3. Modifies machines according to guidelines and specifications.
4. Performs all forms of repair and servicing to machines.
5. Contributes to the repair, overhaul and diagnosis of plant equipment.
6. Develops an effective working relationship with Workshop Engineers and the Workshop Team and can support others where required.
7. Maintains a healthy and safe working environment for self and others through a clear understanding of workplace safety requirements and systems.
8. Supports the roles of others ensuring administration and paperwork is completed effectively and on time as and when required.
9. Ensures customer expectations are met by maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Supervisor.
10. Contribute towards to the success of the apprenticeship programme by supporting and mentoring engineering apprentices.
11. Works with the customer in mind, making sure that quality work standards are maintained consistently.
12. Works in accordance with the company quality assurance guidelines.
13. Is able to effectively contribute to recognising and improving work processes so as to drive greater efficiency.
14. Uses initiative and takes appropriate action to ensure good housekeeping standards are followed and maintained in the workshop area.
15. Ensures that self-image is a key contributor to promoting company business.
16. Proactively seeks new opportunities to develop personal skills and looks at opportunities within the workshop to apply these.
17. Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post.
Skills and Qualifications:
18. Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3.
19. GCSE passes grades A-C in Mathematics and English.
20. Full clean driving licence.
21. Able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role and / or industry.
22. Smart and well presented.
23. Good communicator at all levels.
24. Flexible approach to work.
25. Computer literate and able to demonstrate uses of IT relevant to role.
26. Be able to travel UK & Ireland as required to support business requirements.
27. To be able to travel overseas as required.
28. Keep up to date on technical skills and knowledge.
29. Attends training as required.
