A leading contractor in the North East is seeking an experienced Freelance Design Manager to support ongoing and upcoming projects. The Role
As a Freelance Design Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing the design process across multiple project stages. You'll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure all design deliverables meet project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate the design process through to delivery
* Liaise with project teams, consultants, and the supply chain
* Review drawings and technical designs, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements
* Identify and mitigate design risks
* Support the project team with technical queries and design-related issues
* Attend design and progress meetings (on-site presence preferred)
About You
* Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry
* Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
* Comfortable working on-site, with hybrid arrangements available
