JOB TITLE: Tax Administrator

ROLE TYPE: Part time, permanent

LOCATION: Hertfordshire

HOURS/DAYS (per week): 20 hours per week, flexible work hours

SALARY RANGE: £30,000 pro rata (pro rata to 20 hours per week)

NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: TBC

JOB ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
As a Tax Administrator will support the tax department in the administration of tax compliance and reporting processes. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking for a career in tax and finance that offers an excellent work-life balance.

1. Tax Compliance Support:

Dealing with HMRC via telephone to assist with cancelling self-assessment notices, chasing tax refunds, registering/deregister for self-assessment, reallocating payments
Handling HMRC penalty appeals either by letter or online
Registering clients for VAT with HMRC
2. Administrative support to the tax team

Preparing tax return packages
Raising month end invoices
Raising software invoices
Assisting with CS01 packages
Assisting with Company Secretarial packages
Assisting with Company Formation packages
Collaborate with team members to collect necessary information for tax filings.
Provide general administrative support to the tax department as needed, including scheduling meetings and preparing documents.
3. Data Entry and Management:

Maintain organized tax records and documentation.
Support data entry and basic calculations needed for tax reporting processes.
4. Research Assistance:

Assist in gathering data for tax-related inquiries.
5. Learning and Development:

Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of tax regulations and processes.
ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus, but no prior experience is necessary.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
