Medical Secretary - Acute Medicine
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust invites a flexible and motivated individual to join the Acute Medicine Business Unit as a Medical Secretary.

Main duties
* Organise and minute internal and external meetings/case conferences.
* Arrange hospitality, travel and audio‑visual equipment and other requirements using online booking systems, including Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings.
* Communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, managers and other medical staff.
* Audio‑type and distribute letters and correspondence in line with Trust KPIs.
* Work as part of a team, covering for others when required due to sickness or absence.
Person Specification
Education
* GCSE or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience in a customer care/patient care environment.
* Experience in an NHS administrative role.
* Understanding of the Trust's patient access policy.
* Experience in a supervisory role.
Skills and Ability
* Advanced level of IT, including Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Ability to accurately type letters containing medical terminology.
* Knowledge of NHS systems.
* Audio typing experience.
