As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a key source of support for pupils who require emotional guidance and behavioural consistency to succeed in school. Many of the children you'll work with may face challenges such as:
Emotional regulation and anxiety
Behavioural and attachment-related needs
Low confidence and self-belief
Difficulties with social interaction and communication
Trauma-informed needs
You'll support pupils both one-to-one and in small groups, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils throughout the school day to access learning
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Helping pupils develop coping strategies and resilience
Encouraging positive interactions with peers and staff
Working closely with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
Contributing to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Who We're Looking For

Previous SEMH or SEND experience is helpful but not essential
