At Cheshire East Council, we are looking for an experienced Team Manager to join our Cared for Children service, with responsibility for managing our dedicated Court team. If you have strong leadership skills, we would love you to join us on our journey in achieving excellent outcomes for our children, through timely and effective care proceedings.

You will join a supportive management group, who are dedicated and passionate about driving practice improvement so that we deliver excellent outcomes for our cared for children, including timely permanence.


About you

The team is busy and fast paced and this role will suit those with extensive experience of managing a Court team or managing in a similar environment, such as within statutory child protection services. You will be able to work well under pressure and be highly organised, with the ability to ensure the team are effective in meeting deadlines and timescales.

You will work closely with colleagues from various teams and external agencies to build positive and effective working relationships which ensure effective multi-professional working.

You will be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England and have a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience.

As part of our cared for children service management team, you will be directly supported by a dedicated Service Manager; benefit from reflective supervision, training and development opportunities and a range of benefits available to our employees.

The successful candidate will:

-be responsible for the day to day management of the team; for work allocation and management oversight which ensures work is completed to a high standard

-develop the team and support effective partnership working with other services and agencies to enable children to remain living at home safely where possible

-drive practice improvement within the team to deliver excellence of practice, achieving key performance indicators and good outcomes for our children

-support your team through regular reflective, high quality supervision and a restorative approach to leadership.
