Manpower Belfast are proud to be working with a government body to provide Gritter Drivers for the winter service in the Ballymena area. These seasonal roles will commence in October and run until mid-April. The Role You will be working on an on-call basis, following a three-week rotational shift pattern: Week One: AM Shift (00:00 - 12:00) Week Two: PM Shift (12:00 - 24:00) Week Three: Rest week - no on-call dutiesPay & Benefits Hourly rate: Pay rate up to £31.20 (depending on shift and day worked) On-call allowance: £166.50 per week (paid regardless of whether you are called out to grit) Each grit usually lasts 3-4 hoursMain Duties Gritting roads when ice or snow is expected (on-call basis) Adhering to driving and safety regulations Following route plans to ensure full area coverage Vehicle cleaning and basic checks after each shift Completion of required paperwork
