The Security Operations Centre - Assistant Manager role involves planning, designing, building, and maintaining SOC and Next-Generation SOC services within the government sector. You will be part of a specialized team advising government and industry clients on complex strategic issues.

We seek an Assistant Manager with strong consulting skills and a proven track record in leading Security Operations projects, supporting KPMG’s growth in this market.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting Security Operations projects and workstreams within larger programs, collaborating with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers.
* Planning and managing project delivery, including work plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Providing insights on security operations capabilities and services.
* Building and maintaining client relationships.
* Contributing to proposition and asset development with a security perspective.
Requirements:
* Technical background with experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
* Knowledge of SOC tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
* Experience assessing SOC maturity, managing SOC services, and implementing improvements.
* Ability to apply technology solutions to client issues and opportunities.
* Experience developing security operating models to optimize clients’ technology estates.
* SC Clearance is essential due to the sensitive nature of work.
Desired skills and qualifications:
* Team management and project structuring skills.
* Proven achievement in consulting or industry roles.
* Degree in Information Security, IT, or STEM subjects (MSc preferred).
* Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
* Experience in a 'Big 4' or similar consulting environment.
Location: Primarily based in Southwest England, with weekly site visits required.
