Reporting into the Regional Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be remotely based working within an external regional sales team, managing geographic territory EH, KY, PH, DD, PH, AB, IV & KW within a highly collaborative environment to maximise conversion of opportunity across a portfolio of customers to deliver the channel AOP.
The successful candidate will be responsible for solution selling Ideal Standard, Armitage Shanks and Villeroy & Boch brand product in the non-residential sector by understanding the needs of a broad customer base including (but not limited to) architects & designers, main contractors, installers, MMC specialists, merchants, NHS Trusts, MEU’s and FM companies, applying your knowledge of industry regulations, product compliance and commercial awareness to protect specification, take share from competition and ensure a growing position in the non-residential market.
Managing a minimum portfolio of 50 project opportunities within the key non-residential sectors (healthcare, education, offices, hotels, factories, leisure and public buildings) from design stage through to order fulfilment, engaging with all key stake holders to maximise share of wallet for Ideal Standard.
Key Responsibilities of the Specification Manager:
1. Manage and maintain a minimum portfolio of top 50 projects, ensuring all activity and data is recorded accurately and kept up to date on CRM (Salesforce).
2. Demonstrate proactive engagement with all key project stakeholders to identify opportunities and risks, taking appropriate action to protect specification and maximise share of wallet.
3. Proactively seek out new business and customer opportunities.
4. Make timely pricing decisions in line with agreed process.
5. Collaborate with wider team and other business functions as required to ensure effective execution of channel strategies and initiatives.
6. Apply a proactive approach to maximizing effective customer facing time.
7. Self-management of diary and tasks to maximise time efficiency.
8. Delivery of CPD seminars and other customer presentations.
9. Ensure all activity and behavior aligns with ISI values and ethical business practices.
Specific Skills / Experience:
10. Indirect solution selling.
11. Self management and organization.
12. Comprehensive knowledge of the design, specification and construction process within the non-residential sectors.
13. An in depth understanding of the roles of the key stakeholders of a construction project and how and when to engage to maximise chance of success.
14. Familiarity and understanding of industry specific regulations, technical standards and guidance (HBN/HTM, Part M Building Regs etc)
15. Proficient in the use of Salesforce (or similar CRM system) and Microsoft 365.
16. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of customer types at all levels of seniority.
