CORE PURPOSE We require an energetic, highly driven PE Teacher to deliver outstanding physical education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Operating within a modern, sports-centric mainstream academy, the successful candidate will inspire high levels of physical literacy, physical conditioning, and tactical awareness, skillfully coordinating a comprehensive curriculum that maximizes pupil participation while steering competitive academy sports teams to success across regional tournaments. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS Dynamic Practical PE Instruction: Plan and execute rigorous, high-tempo physical education lessons across diverse disciplines, including traditional team sports, athletics, gymnastics, and modern fitness concepts. Extracurricular Sports Leadership: Design, organize, and lead a robust extracurricular sports program, training academy squads across football, rugby, netball, or athletics to compete fiercely in citywide leagues. Inclusive Physical Scaffolding: Adapt and differentiate physical drills to guarantee full accessibility and enjoyment for all pupils, successfully boosting the engagement of girls and less-confident learners while accelerating progress for SEND cohorts. Theoretical Sport Science Delivery: Confidently instruct the academic components of GCSE Physical Education or equivalent Level 2 vocational sports science specifications, ensuring high-grade terminal results. Proactive Athletic Mentorship: Act as an inspiring form tutor within an established year group structure, modeling excellent discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while maintaining proactive, trusted partnerships with families. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognized equivalent teaching credential, supported by a strong honors degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a closely related coaching discipline. Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to drive outstanding physical and academic progress across both practical modules and theoretical classroom-based sports specifications. Fixtures & Compliance Literacy: Thorough knowledge of school safeguarding protocols, modern risk-assessment practices for physical activities, and the logistical organization required to run off-site competitive match fixtures safely.
