Global Operations Director Responsibilities
As the Global Operations Director for our client, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of the business. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who is data-driven and has brilliant interpersonal skills. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure seamless execution of business objectives.
Internal Operations
1. Oversee global surveyor operations including recruitment, training, and monitoring of key business metrics (time on site, data quality)
2. Work closely with the global sales team to advise on capture timelines, costings, profit margin, SLA documentation, and T&Cs
3. Regularly review internal processes and make recommendations/changes where necessary
4. Ensure Digital Surveyors undertake necessary Health and Safety courses and stay up to date on current legislation and RICS guidelines
5. Collaborate with the Director of Technology to scope development work for increased operational efficiency and accuracy
6. Develop financial budgets and reports for founders and investors
7. Ensure insurance cover is in place for products, business interruption, and employers' liability for global coverage. Negotiate pricing and policies annually
8. Oversee trade license and office lease renewal in the UAE
9. Stay up to date with new lidar technologies and firmware updates affecting time in property, data quality, and data registration
Production
1. Oversee SA-based production team including recruitment, training, and continuous monitoring of key metrics (production timelines, accuracy)
2. Ensure client deadlines are met and resolve/communicate any issues to clients promptly
3. Regularly review internal processes and make recommendations/changes where necessary
4. Plan production recruitment to meet quarterly/annual sales targets
5. Work with production manager and external contractors to ensure quality and accuracy of drawings
6. Collaborate with the Director of Technology to develop technology solutions for streamlined workflows and increased efficiency
Human Resources
1. Support HR manager with day-to-day operations including recruitment strategy & induction training
2. Review, develop, and update business policies
3. Advise/conduct investigations and disciplinary actions
4. Engage with legal counsel when necessary to protect the business
Team Leadership and Development
1. Provide strong leadership to the global operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
2. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as a primary point of contact for senior management, providing regular updates on operational performance, key initiatives, and strategic insights to support decision-making.
