The Role
Join our innovative IT Operations team at British Airways as a Network Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust infrastructure that keeps our global airline connected. This is your opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, agile environment supporting the technology that powers the world’s most iconic airline.
What You’ll Do
* Design and implement resilient network solutions that support British Airways’ business needs.
* Collaborate with project delivery teams to support network development across global sites.
* Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
* Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot to ensure optimal service delivery.
* Maintain security compliance by working closely with IT, Cyber Security, and service partners.
* Deliver network maintenance, upgrades, and documentation with accuracy and clarity.
* Provide training, guidance, and support to users and junior colleagues, contributing to a learning-focused culture.
* Analyse network usage, forecast future capacity, and optimise bandwidth efficiency.
* Engage in cross-team collaboration with developers, system administrators, and security professionals.
* Contribute to incident resolution and business continuity through international travel as required.
What You’ll Bring To British Airways

Your Experience
* Demonstrated experience in a Network Engineer or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF, and hardware such as Cisco and Juniper.
* Proficiency with SDWAN (e.g., Meraki), network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ServiceNow.
* Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and network security best practices.
* Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with third-party suppliers.
* Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIP or the equivalent.
