Principal Test Engineer – Electronics / RF / Manufacturing Test

We are representing a defence engineering organisationwho is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to support the introduction of production test systems and development testing of advanced electronic and RF products.
This is a hands on technical role supporting the transition of new products from development into manufacturing, working closely with design, operations and manufacturing teams to ensure production readiness and robust test capability.
Key Responsibilities
* Support development and introduction of manufacturing test systems and test facilities
* Perform testing and fault diagnosis of electronic, RF and electro-mechanical assemblies
* Investigate test failures down to PCB/component level and identify corrective actions
* Support production readiness activities and configuration control processes
* Generate test specifications, operator instructions and technical documentation
* Work closely with design, manufacturing and operations teams to resolve technical issues
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Skills & Experience Required
* HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar
* Strong experience in digital, analogue and RF electronics testing
* Experience using manual and automated test equipment (ATE)
* Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills to component level
* Understanding of manufacturing test processes and product development lifecycle
* Experience within defence, aerospace or high-reliability electronics manufacturing preferred
* Strong communication and documentation skills

* Salary circa £52,000 depending on experience
