Main Purpose of the Job
Based in any of our UK offices with a Highways presence, you will be part of a hardworking and growing team of Transport & Infrastructure Engineers/Consultants. You will work with other offices across the country as part of a national team to help drive successful delivery of projects and enforce our core business values.
Projects you may be involved with include:
* Sheffield City Council – extensive Active Travel Infrastructure schemes
* Transport for West Midlands – around 20 km of light rail extensions
* Birmingham City Council – Active Travel Infrastructure and Cross City Bus upgrades
* Nottingham City Council – signalised junctions
As part of your role you may assume responsibility of lead consultant for your discipline contribution to multidisciplinary projects, including liaison with client, establishing/agreement of the brief, delivering the specified work, undertaking contract administration, final account assessment and post‑contract completion assessment / as‑built analysis if required. You will be expected to provide direction to junior members to support their development and achieve competent delivery.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
* Collate project information, liaise and engage with clients and third parties as required.
* Supervise site‑based projects as required.
* Lead project delivery and supervise and delegate to more junior members of staff as required.
* Check / approve own and other staff work, including third‑party design proposals.
* Integrate successfully into an established team and drive the team culture.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Qualification
* BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* Association of Project Management qualification (or equivalent).
* Professional membership or accreditation to ICE, CIHT or APM.
Experience
* Delivery of urban highways schemes.
* Client liaison.
* Use of Common Data Environments & BIM levels & strategy.
* Horizontal & vertical alignment design in AutoCAD & Civils 3D.
* Detection.
* Selection & lining designs to TSRGD.
* Pavement & footway designs.
* Development of Highways Specifications including MCHW.
* Utility coordination and clash management.
* Development of junior staff.
Skills
* Commercial understanding.
* Ability to collaborate with team members.
* Great verbal and written communication.
* Driving licence.
