Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of BDCFT Community Children’s Services, contributing to the delivery of the Public Health Nursing offer across 0–5, 5–19 and Specialist School Nursing services as part of an Enhanced Public Health offer.
Working under the direction and supervision of a band 6 nurse and registered staff, the post holder will support the delivery of a continence service for children and young people experiencing bladder and bowel difficulties. This will include undertaking delegated assessments, implementing agreed care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support toilet training and continence management.
The post holder will work in partnership with families, schools, early years settings and partner agencies to promote healthy bladder and bowel habits and support children to achieve age-appropriate independence with toileting.
The role involves identifying when children require additional support and escalating concerns appropriately, including signposting or referring to specialist services in line with agreed protocols and under supervision.
The Community Nursery Nurse will be responsible for carrying out appropriately delegated duties, working within clearly defined parameters, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the service.

1. Demonstrate post-qualified experience working with children and young adults and those with complex health and safeguarding needs.

13. Diploma in Child Care and education (CACHE) or NNEB BTEC Diploma in early years or NVQ level 3 early years care and education (City and Guilds, EDEXCEL, OU)
