An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ENP post within the A&E/Inpatient Services department based at Mid Argyll Hospital. The ENP service operates 24hours a day, working closely with the local GPs who provide medical cover to the hospital and community.
You should have the ability to act as the Senior Nurse for the A&E department and also for the hospital in the out of hours period and in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. Excellent communication skills, prioritising and decision making skills are essential. The ENP must ensure safe and effective clinical practice, manage and develop the performance of the team and contribute to the delivery of the organisation's objectives.
Mid Argyll Hospital is situated on the west coast of Scotland. It is a Community Hospital within a bustling town.
Inpatient services consists of a 15 bedded GP acute ward which cares for acute admissions. The Accident and Emergency department is located in the hospital. There is also a busy Outpatient department with visiting consultants from a range of specialities.
Rehabilitation services from the multi-disciplinary team are also provided, as are Daycase services to provide adjunct therapies and transfusions, etc.
Mid Argyll affords great opportunities for excellent work/life balance. Outdoor pursuits are available with local organised events such as the Mid Argyll Triathlon and there are great cycling and water sports on the doorstep. The islands of Islay, Gigha, Arran and Jura are easily accessible with a good ferry service.
