Paralegal / Compliance Lead (6-Month FTC | Potential Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Warwick, CV34
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary/Rate: Equivalent to £45,000-£55,000
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal / Compliance Lead to join on a 6‑month interim/FTC basis, with potential for a temp‑to‑perm transition. This role supports the organisation in maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory and internal requirements, while helping to embed a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory awareness across the business.
You will work closely with senior leadership to strengthen compliance frameworks, deliver training, support audits, and monitor adherence to regulatory obligations.
The role reports to the General Counsel, with a dotted line to the Head of Ethics & Compliance. Some UK travel to operational sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, ensuring updates are communicated and acted upon across the business.
Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits to determine risk levels and scope.
Oversee adherence to laws, regulations and internal policies, escalating concerns where appropriate.
Support managers in identifying solutions to compliance issues and implementing preventative/corrective measures.
Deliver compliance training, workshops and presentations to staff.
Investigate irregularities, non‑compliance issues and potential breaches.
Report compliance performance to internal stakeholders and the wider group.
Assist with regulatory requests, data gathering and documentation.
Maintain and update internal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
Carry out compliance‑related administrative duties (e.g., ROPA, due diligence checks, file management).
Work closely with the wider Ethics & Compliance Community, using group tools and attending regular meetings.
Lead compliance workshops and contribute to an ethical, risk‑aware business culture.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience within a legal function, regulatory environment or compliance‑related role.
Strong knowledge of compliance areas such as:
Anti‑money laundering
Competition law
Bribery & corruption
Data privacy / GDPR
Fraud prevention
Trade sanctions
Third‑party due diligence
Speak‑up / whistleblowing frameworks
Good understanding of governance, risk and compliance principles.
Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory changes clearly.
Confident communicator capable of delivering training.
Strong IT skills and experience with compliance tools.Desirable:
Legal or compliance qualifications (e.g., law degree, GDPR or data privacy certifications).
Prior experience in a compliance‑focused role.
Familiarity with group‑level compliance reporting tools.
