Job Overview

The CMM Training Lead and Digital Nurse Fellow (DNF) role will work with colleagues to promote their confidence and competence in using the CMM (careflow medicines management) and other digital clinical systems, supporting the development of new digitally enabled practice and workflows.

The CMM-DNF will work closely with the Chief Nursing Information Officer, the digital matron for medication safety, clinical digital specialist team and the nursing/midwifery teams within the clinical environment, to understand current ways of working with the goal of supporting the adoption CMM across the Trust.

The CMM- DNF will work collaboratively with the Senior Sisters / Charge Nurses to understand learning needs on their wards and agree training and support plans to build confidence and competence to use CMM.

The CMM- DNF will work in partnership with other Practice Development Nurses, Digital Link Nurses / Midwives and Digital Change Makers to ensure that new digitally enabled practice is embedded in clinical teams and that changes are sustained, and that new staff are supported to maintain agreed practice and standards.

As an expert practitioner, the CMM- DNF will use their experience and knowledge to identify innovative or enhanced ways of working with clinical digital systems, or opportunities to improve safety and quality of care, and report these back to the Digital Nursing team and CNIO for consideration, testing and implementation

Main duties of the job

Duties

The digital nurse fellow will act as a change agent, providing at the able support and guidance to our clinical staff. Duties include:


* Act as an expert resource and role-model for the digital clinical systems in use at North Bristol Trust.
* Work in partnership with colleagues from IM&T
* Meet regularly with assigned ward leaders to update on progress, agree support required and address difficulties that arise.
* Deliver teaching and training on digital systems, using a variety of teaching techniques
* Record and reporting training activity completed
* Provide professional leadership including motivation of staff regarding the use of digital technology
* Identifying and escalating issues or risks arising from digital systems or related clinical practice.
* Support the development and implement of digital patient pathways as appropriate
* Support the Clinical teams in the new ways of working ensuring they are able to adopt the new solutions. This will include taking on-board feedback and working with the Clinical Digital specialists to enable system change as required.
* Understand change management techniques and methodologies and be able to adapt the approach to a wide range of stakeholders.
* Understand and act as a champion for the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), particularly around password security and patient confidentiality.
