Job overview
Are you an experienced pharmacy technician with a strong desire to develop and promote the use of information technology (IT) and digital transformation across the Trust?
If you are enthusiastic and understand the benefits that technology can deliver, and want to be a crucial part of our team, we would like to hear from you.
This role offers a pharmacy technician with IT and operational skills the opportunity to innovate and further develop the use of technology and informatics to support our expanding digital agenda and quality improvement initiatives.
We are committed to balancing high-quality service delivery with professional development, providing a supportive and training-focused environment within our friendly team.
Main duties of the job
You will lead the ongoing maintenance of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system as the system administrator. Responsibilities include routine updates, software installation, and testing of the current system version.
You will provide expert support in the technical development, implementation, and upgrading of the Trust-wide EPMA system, leveraging your extensive experience as a pharmacy technician with EPMA expertise to manage daily operations.
The role also involves maintaining other digital systems within pharmacy, participating in new system implementations, and supporting staff training across the Trust.
Working for our organisation
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is located in West Norfolk, known for its beautiful coastline and charming villages. The medieval port town of King's Lynn boasts interesting architecture.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to approximately 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, including parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire. Our staff includes over 4,000 employees and volunteers, with around 500 beds on a single site. Some services are provided in community facilities, and we collaborate with neighboring hospitals for tertiary services.
In February 2022, the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all inspected core services, and recommended moving out of the recovery support system.
We are excited to be part of the New Hospital Programme, planning a new Queen Elizabeth Hospital to serve King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, reflecting our commitment to our patients, communities, and staff.
