We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others.
You'll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday with potential weekend support) at Cygnet Toller Road based in Stoneygate, Leicester (LE2 3HP), helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.
Toller Road is an 8-bed specialist residential service with nursing, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, including those with mental health or physical health needs. We provide specialist nursing care and support tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and community integration.
Please be aware that, due to the nature of this role, candidates will need to have a full UK Driving Licence.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service
* Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting, and general building work
* Maintain plant, services, and vehicles in working order
* Ensure safe working practices and report faulty equipment and hazards
* Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours
* Check fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices, and emergency lights

Person specifications
* Experience in painting and decorating indoors and outdoors
* Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence
* Ability to communicate effectively and record detailed maintenance information
* Skilled in DIY and general maintenance
* Preferably Level 2 Diploma in Painting & Decorating or Maintenance
* Friendly, conscientious, a good team player with a positive attitude
