Abbey College Cambridge is seeking a History teacher to join our staff, preferably with the ability to teach History at KS4 and 5. The Humanities department team at Abbey College Cambridge is made up of 6 teaching staff, and covers a range of subjects including History, Politics, Geography, English Literature and Art. Subjects are taught at GCSE and A level (both traditional 2-year programmes and our 18-month course, beginning in January rather than September – catering for overseas markets with alternative timelines). We are also introducing Year 9 courses in Humanities from September 2024.
The Humanities department is a friendly and collaborative team from a range of backgrounds. The diversity of subjects, students and staff creates an open and engaging culture, built around mutual respect, humour and the sharing of best practice. The team meets regularly to discuss key elements of transferable teaching practice, student support and intervention. Differentiated resources and detailed schemes of work are available for all courses but individual teacher adaption is encouraged and welcomed.
