We are seeking an experienced Senior Intelligence Analyst to join our innovative and responsive Business Intelligence Service at Dorset County Hospital (DCH). Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will effectively collaborate with clinicians, managers and external partners to understand information needs and work with the wider BI Team to scope, plan and deliver reporting solutions. Able to demonstrate a pro-active, methodical and structured approach to capturing data requirements, with flexibility and resilience to deal with shifting priorities and demands.
You will be familiar with the principles of data standards, skilled in using data warehouse and visualisation tools, and passionate about using the latest innovations to develop reporting solutions which support strategic and operational decision making. Detailed working knowledge of the Health and Care system is desirable, but not essential.
Working within our team you will be instrumental in the delivery of Dorset's approach to working collaboratively with ICS stakeholders, including the Dorset Intelligence and Insight Service (DiiS), ensuring that the Business Intelligence offer throughout the organisation and beyond, continues to develop.
The team work flexibly and support a hybrid working arrangement (split between office and remote locations), with a requirement to meet regularly at Dorset County Hospital and across ICS partner sites.

Essential criteria
* Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
* Demonstrable professional Development and continuous learning
Desirable criteria
* Professional qualification or post graduate diploma/ relevant experience in relevant area/Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Previous NHS Experience at Senior Analyst level
Experience
Essential criteria
* Extensive experience in collecting, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data
* Significant and recent use of MS Office including Excel and SQL
* Experience of manipulating large data sets to provide appropriate analysis to support the business decision making process
* Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing Business Intelligence reporting solutions (for example Power BI).
* Excellent stakeholder management, including building effective relationships and influencing others
* Experience of working effectively in a team and collaboratively across departments/organisations.
* Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a complex problem-solving environment. Ability to find answers that aren’t always immediately obvious
Desirable criteria
* Significant and recent experience of working as an information analyst in an NHS environment
* Substantial experience in a Business Analyst role in a customer focused organisation
* Experience of business process modelling techniques.
* Recent line (staff) management experience of a team providing an Information Management Service in the NHS or Healthcare Environment.
* Significant experience of extracting & analysing complex and sensitive data to support the monitoring requirements to meet NHS targets.
