About the role
You will be working in the Landscaping team, developing practical skills and a deep knowledge about Arborist and Landscaping operations in the Environment section of Cormac Solutions Highways and Environment service.
This is an apprenticeship post, and you will be learning whilst working gaining a level then level apprenticeship qualification in Arbiculture and going to college as appropriate. Please view apprenticeship standard:
Duties include (but are not limited to)
1. Select appropriate equipment for the Load and unload equipment safely
2. Process tree work arisings using appropriate machinery
3. Take appropriate care of tools, equipment and customer property
4. Recognise a basic range of tree and shrub species using common and scientific names
5. Identify pests, diseases, disorders and tree defects
6. Carry out a range of ground-based pruning operations
7. Fell and process small trees
8. Prepare sites for planting, plant trees and provide support, protection and aftercare
9. Use and maintain powered and non-powered tools and equipment

Your qualification will be delivered at Bicton College with attendance required in the format of blocks of study and learning on campus.
