Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the safe and efficient operation of forklifts. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth handling of Vehicles, including loading and unloading goods, as well as maintaining an organised Yard environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts to load and unload Vehicles from lorries and storage areas.
* Manage inventory
* Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance of forklifts.
* Handle materials safely, adhering to all safety protocols during shipping and receiving processes.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
* Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
* Collaborate with team members to maintain an organised and efficient Yard space.
Qualifications
* Valid forklift certification is essential; additional certifications in equipment repair are advantageous.
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
* Strong basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
