Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator with previous litigation experience to take on a broader supervisory role supporting team performance, technical excellence and departmental growth, while managing a smaller complex caseload.
Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
You will have:
1. 5+ years’ PQE in civil or commercial Litigation. The role will focus on commercial/debt recovery litigation. Candidates who have prior experience in other areas of civil litigation such as personal injury looking to make a move will be considered. The firm has previously taken solicitors or CILEx canididates without specific debt recovery backgrounds and trained them.
2. Excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules across all tracks
3. Experience handling complex litigation matters independently
4. Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach
5. Previous mentoring or supervisory experience
The role will involve:
6. Supervising and auditing the work of more junior case handlers in the department on debt recovery work.
7. Managing your own smaller caseload of higher value debt recovery and commercial dispute work.
8. Advising clients on strategy, risk and outcomes.
9. Drafting statements of case, applications and witness statements.
10. Supporting junior team members and assisting with team performance.
11. Working closely with senior leadership on quality and process improvement.
