Main duties of the job
Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant is to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring, open, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities include monitoring the wellbeing of residents, involvement in person-centred care planning, supporting residents with medication requirements, undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development, and acting as a key contact with residents, relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents’ wellbeing.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant is to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, open, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, noting changes impacting care and care plans, ensuring new needs are met, and updating records accordingly.
* Participating in the person-centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring and undertaking monthly evaluations.
* Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
* Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.
* Acting as a key point of contact with residents, relatives and visitors, and with health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints escalated where needed.
About you

Our ideal candidate must:
* Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
* Have 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
* Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Demonstrate a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
* Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

* To be successful, you will need an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
