What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide expert advice on landscape and design for significant planning applications and strategic housing allocations.
* Take the reins on the design and implementation of environmental improvement schemes, from public open spaces to habitat mitigation projects.
* Contribute specialist expertise to the preparation of development plans and supplementary planning documents.
* Work closely with developers, site contractors, and internal teams to secure the highest standards of design and sustainable drainage.
* Represent the team at public inquiries and present reports to elected members and community stakeholders.

* A Degree or Diploma in Landscape Design and Full Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
* Proven professional experience (ideally within local government) dealing with major residential developments and hard/soft landscape schemes.
* Proficiency in CAD and graphic packages, with a solid understanding of Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) and play area design.
* The ability to negotiate with developers and present complex design issues clearly to non-experts.
* A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits across varied terrain.
* Additional qualifications or experience in Urban Design, Ecology, or Project Management, as well as in Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals (LVIA), would be beneficial.
