Working as part of a small and ambitious team, the CommunicationsAssistant will support the delivery of high-quality, strategic communicationsacross digital and offline channels. This role is essential in helping theCommunications and Engagement team maintain consistency, timeliness, andeffectiveness in all communications activities.

You will provide vital support across content creation, scheduling,reporting, and administrative tasks that contribute to the successful deliveryof campaigns, member communications, and engagement initiatives. Main duties of the job

Assist in maintaining content calendars and scheduling communicationsacross platforms (website, social media, newsletters)

Draft, edit, and proofread digital and print content, ensuring alignmentwith brand and editorial guidelines

Upload and update website content, ensuring accuracy and accessibility

Coordinate production of bulletins, newsletters, social media posts, andoffline materials

Monitor inboxes and respond to routine communications queries

Provide administrative support for campaigns and events, includingtracking timelines and logistics

Compile and format performance data from digital platforms (GoogleAnalytics, social media insights, email metrics)

Prepare regular reports on engagement metrics and campaign performance

Maintain databases and mailing lists, ensuring compliance with dataprotection regulations

Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and editorial standards

Support internal teams with basic design and formatting tasks usingapproved templates

Assist in creating and distributing resources for member practices

Act as a first point of contact for routine queries from memberpractices

Provide day-to-day administration support for the Communications Team

One Care is one of the largest GP federations in England, representingand supporting 69general practice partnerships, which together care formore than one million patients in BNSSG. One Careoffers a number ofdirect support services to practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) andlocalities. These cover a range of areas including digital, businessintelligence and practice management. We also amplify the voice of practices indiscussions about delivery of healthcare in our area.

Experience

* Experience in communications, marketing, or administrative support roles, ideally within healthcare, public sector, or not-for-profit environments.
* Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and audience appropriate content across formats.
* Familiarity with digital platforms such as websites (e.g., CMS), social media, and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp or equivalent).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital tools.
* Understanding of brand guidelines and editorial principles, with the ability to apply them consistently.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
* Commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and user-centred communication.
* Professional, approachable, and adaptable, with a positive attitude toward change and innovation.

* Basic experience with analytics tools to support reporting and performance tracking.
* Awareness of accessibility and inclusivity in content design, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, including responding to queries and coordinating resources.
* Ability to assist in the development of toolkits, templates, and guidance materials for internal or external use.
* Willingness to support training sessions or workshops, including logistics and materials preparation.
* Familiarity with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and formatting tasks using approved templates.
* Understanding of audience segmentation and tailoring content to meet diverse needs.


Qualifications

* Experience in communications, marketing, or administrative support roles, ideally within healthcare, public sector, or not-for-profit environments.

£25,258 to £29,929 a yearSalary listed is FTE. Hours are 22.5 per week.
