Who You Are You are an experienced professional with a background in working with children and young people. You understand the importance of multi-agency collaboration and have experience in assessment and planning. You possess an understanding of relevant children's legislation, including an overview of the Social Services and Well Being Act and Fostering Regulations, with a preference for experience in trauma-informed approaches. You are adaptable, able to work independently as well as part of a supportive team, and are committed to ongoing learning and development. What the Job Involves In this role, you will join Cardiff Children’s Services as a social work assistant within the fostering service. You will work under the guidance of the Principal Social Worker and Service Manager, assisting in service delivery. Your responsibilities will include the allocation of a caseload of foster carers to whom you will provide support and supervision. You will engage in risk assessment, information recording, care plan delivery, quality of care review, and the establishment of person-centred and enabling plans. Participation in relevant training to enhance your skills will also be expected.
