Hours: 19.5 hrs per week (Wednesday-Friday), 39wks per year (term time)

The Head teacher and Governing Body of Llysfaen Primary School are
looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is
committed to children’s learning and wellbeing to join our ‘highly successful and happy school’ (Estyn March 2024).
Required from September 2025 a friendly, committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work as part of a dedicated team to provide support in addressing the barriers to learning and meeting the needs of all pupils. This teaching assistant will work as part of a dedicated ALN team implementing a variety of innovative intervention strategies and programmes both inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate should have the ability to work across the Primary Phase including Early years and Progression Steps 1, 2 and 3 and will provide ALN support for children to accelerate their learning and support their emotional wellbeing. Any other areas of interest or relevant expertise should be specified in your application. An NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or an equivalent qualification is desirable. The successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, have good interpersonal and communication skills, have a willingness to share and promote best practice, have a good sense of humour and be able to establish good working relationships with children, staff and parents.
This is a temporary position until July 2026.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
