\n We are a busy Social Work team, and work with out of hours public protection partners to meet the needs of vulnerable groups across Dumfries and Galloway. You will collaborate with other Senior Social worker in the team, as well as colleagues from across daytime services.
\n We are looking for a Senior Social Worker with a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience and the energy and enthusiasm to make a significant contribution to out of hours service to keep people safe until the next working day. Supervisory experience is desirable.
\n You will have the skills to initiate and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and other agencies; in return you will receive regular supervision.
\n This is an ideal opportunity to gain first-line managerial experience within a busy and challenging but supportive environment.
\n A DipSW/CQSW/CSS qualification or equivalent is essential as is SSSC registration.
\n A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
\n This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

\n Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
