Product Development Technologist Salary and Benefits

* 36.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Product Development Technologist Role Function

* Working directly with the Head of QA & Development, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the company products by leading raw material evaluations, supporting production and helping to solve production challenges, and developing new products and innovations.

Product Development Technologist Candidate Requirements

* You will have a science-based degree level or above.
* Strong understanding of raw materials, R&D processes, and lab equipment, including safe lab practices and experimental design.
* Project management experience and be skilled at planning, prioritising, and delivering R&D projects on time, often juggling multiple tasks.
* Deliver clear and effective communication in sharing ideas, writing reports, and collaborating across departments.
* Demonstrate precision in laboratory work, documentation, and quality control is essential.
* The ability to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and draw meaningful conclusions from experiments.
* Demonstrate curiosity and creativity to explore new ideas, develop novel solutions, and improve existing products
* Adaptability and Teamwork: Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and new challenges, with the ability to work autonomously when needed, but also thrive in cross-functional teams utilising collaboration skills.

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable.

Product Development Technologist Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

* Ensuring safe working practices across laboratory and factory environments.
* Applying expertise in colour theory, dyeing techniques, and colourfastness.
* Evaluating raw materials using knowledge of their properties and how they react to different processing conditions.
* Supporting production with problem solving, technical insights and guidance.
* Operating laboratory and pilot equipment with sound understanding of lab protocols.
* Driving R&D projects independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
* Communicating effectively and use available tools to develop innovative textile solutions.
* Using available resources to investigate, recommend and develop innovative products / solutions and contribute to continuous improvement.

Senior Electronics Engineer Salary and Benefits

Technical Documentation Engineer Role Function

* This Technical Documentation Engineer opening is a new role, working within the company’s busy Technical Services team.
* You will create and maintain high quality SOP’s (standard operating procedures), installation / user manuals and the creation of drawings/models for product fabrications to be used by the installation and production operatives.

Technical Documentation Engineer Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience creating and maintaining high quality SOP’s (standard operating procedures), installation / user manuals.
* Able to CAD solutions using Solidworks - Use basic drawing standards (BS8888 & ISO128).
* Skilled engineer able to employ engineering devices to investigate and resolve product issues i.e. using problem solving devices such as 8D or 5 Why’s.
* Able to communicate and liaise with stakeholders to bring about a satisfactory conclusion.
* Familiarity with engineering design principals and measuring tools.
* Liaising with the manufacturing, machining, sub-assembly and assembly departments to validate communication tools (such as SOP’s, work instructions and process risks).

Technical Documentation Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

* Ensure the generation of technical materials that are required to facilitate the delivery of product to market in a timely manner, with input from quality, production and in-service feedback.
* Work with the design team to create 3D models and SOP’s for new dedicated illustration kits for all group products.
* Create work instructions and SOP’s to assist the production line and production manager to be used for training and manufacturing on sub-assemblies and assembled products.
* Create or revise user and installation manuals for any new or existing products brought to market by any of the group’s brands.
* Manage and implement change through documented processes and communicate with other departments to deal with enquiries both efficiently and effectively.
* Create an illustrated parts catalogue (IPC) to assist every department determine product parts and codes.
* Provide input to the FMEA and NPI documentation, to lower risks scores via the use of agreed format documentation and communication tools.
