Reporting to: CQC Operations Manager / Partnerships Manager and Clinical Lead/ Service Manager

Location: NE and NW, some hybrid working, some office working with occasional travel to regional offices

Role summary: To lead the delivery of high-quality clinical training and competency processes to enable KEYFORT in delivering safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led support for now and into the future. To deliver training and competency support for community-based nursing support packages for Children with complex and long-term conditions/needs including acquired/traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, spinal injury, palliative care, tracheostomy, ventilation support, PEG support and catheter care etc. To be responsible for ongoing competencies and training using evidence-based methods which embrace Person-Centred Care, nursing practice models and shared decision making. To provide supervision and observe support staff to ensure the agreed support plan is being achieved and support routines are being actioned.


Responsibilities

* Promote and facilitate a progressive learning environment for all KEYFORT services requiring nursing support. Safeguard people at all times. Work alongside all services to develop packages which meet individual needs by assessing support needs, and identifying and agreeing support goals and care plans with people we support, next of kin, commissioners and other professionals. Manage a nursing caseload within the North East region, identifying and delivering appropriate support plans.
* Clinical: act as role model; work within NMC Code; adhere to CQC Key Lines of Enquiry; oversee clinical training delivery across Children's Services; support delivery of clinical activities (advanced medication, PEG care, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, catheter care, skin care, bowel therapy); supervise and train staff in clinical nursing remit.
* Communication, professional development, and registration maintenance.
* Support Provision: carry a caseload; safeguard; assist initial assessment of new referrals; develop supportive relationships; tailor training to individual requirements; create and evaluate nursing care plans; risk assessments; participate in recruitment where needed; arrange and facilitate MDT meetings.
* Reporting: keep the CQC Operations Manager, Service Manager and Partnerships Manager informed on delivery, achievements, concerns or issues.
* Training: lead clinical skills training across identified areas; ensure quality learning environment; training needs analysis; develop materials; evaluate training effectiveness; ensure new staff are competent prior to lone working; identify staff for refreshers; support delivery of training in partnership with training team.
* Administrative Tasks: use Microsoft Office 365; use KEYFORT online software for training/competencies reports; write care plans and risk assessments; maintain files; keep meeting minutes; distribute minutes; complete forms and reports; maintain open communication with all stakeholders.
* General Duties: contribute to case reviews and team meetings; develop Children's services; manage incidents; undertake other duties; uphold KEYFORT values; build relationships with external professionals; support services in emergencies.


Qualifications and requirements

* Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration and relevant community/paediatric experience
* Experience in clinical training delivery and competency assessment
* Strong understanding of CQC standards and safeguarding
* Ability to write care plans and conduct risk assessments
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and knowledge of healthcare software
* Broad experience in complex and long-term conditions including brain injury, neurological conditions, spinal injuries, palliative care, tracheostomy, ventilation support, PEG care, catheter care
* Ability to work in NE/NW regions with travel; flexible and patient-centered
