Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager within our SSE North Scotland business to lead small teams installing and constructing electrical power distribution and transmission systems from 11kV to 132kV. The role focuses on delivering safe, profitable, high-quality, and fit-for-purpose networks, while promoting the company's positive image.
The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects and supervise staff managing diverse electrical network projects concurrently. These projects include installation of power system components such as cables, switchgear, transformers, busbars, relay panels, and associated equipment in substations operating up to 132kV.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead multiple project teams and managers, building confidence and supporting business growth.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project teams and customers.
* Ensure health and safety compliance, undertake site supervision as per CDM regulations, and manage contractors and subcontractors.
* Manage multiple projects efficiently, overseeing project tasks and team performance, and develop direct reports.
* Control resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, for ongoing projects.
* Maintain good commercial awareness, complete valuations, and ensure safety and property maintenance.
* Produce as-built records, test results, updated drawings, and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
* HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
* Site safety passport and experience working on CDM sites.
* SSSTS or SMSTS certification is desirable.
* Possession of SSE DNO authorization for PTW management or equivalent.
