The post holder's primary role is to be the clinical specialist in the field of musculoskeletal Podiatry. Based at the Princess of Wales, they will provide in-reach services to Parc Prison in Bridgend. They will deliver a service that meets the needs of users, from core podiatric provision to specialist care.
Work as an autonomous practitioner managing patients with highly specialised complex needs in various settings, particularly the prison environment.
Collaborate with other professions, e.g., GPs, consultants, nurses, and other AHPs, to provide expert, patient-centred musculoskeletal care.
Be part of the Musculoskeletal Podiatry Team, sharing learning and best practices across peer clinicians.
Provide training, education, supervision, and appraisal for staff and students.
Contribute to professional practice development and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
Support research and innovation by participating in research and development activities.
Lead aspects of service evaluation, focusing on value-based care and complex audits within their area.
Partner with service users and staff to improve health outcomes and develop clinical pathways.
Applications are invited from HCPC-registered Podiatrists with relevant experience seeking a specialist career in challenging and rewarding environments within CTM.
The role involves delivering a broad spectrum of Podiatry services at Parc Prison as part of primary care provision. The successful candidate will join the Community specialty team committed to high-quality evidence-based Podiatric services for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg population. Candidates should have a wide range of postgraduate experience to handle diverse podiatric presentations in a community setting. Specialist postgraduate experience and accredited learning would be advantageous. The post includes managing clinical caseloads and supporting others in MSK, Acute, and Community teams.
Welsh skills are desirable but not essential. Speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above, enabling basic conversations with patients about their health, will be considered advantageous during shortlisting and selection.
