Job Description:
We are currently hiring BANK Housing Support Workers to join our Somerset Additional Housing Service Team, Wells – Somerset.
About Rethink Mental Illness: We are an organization dedicated to helping those severely impacted by mental illness.
Join Our Team: Our Keward Housing Service offers a supportive environment fostering independence and recovery, assisting individuals in maintaining their tenancy and accessing social activities, education, employment, and training.
Role Responsibilities: Working with tenants, providing intensive housing management, supporting vulnerable individuals with mental health issues, assessing needs and risks, and working in a person-centered manner to enable tenancy sustainment.
Responsibilities include tenancy sign-ups, property re-lets, processing referrals, daily service operations, and ensuring health and safety standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience supporting people with mental illness, preferably in housing.
* Excellent administration, organization, and planning skills.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
* Understanding of tenancy/housing management, lettings procedures, relevant legislation, and current housing issues.
* Knowledge of Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefit, and Universal Credit.
