Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Permanent (Hybrid)
Harvey Nash is delighted to be supporting a leading public sector body in the recruitment of a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected, forward‑thinking organisation for a motivated Infrastructure professional keen to develop their skills and progress towards architecture.
In this role, you will take ownership of designing and delivering robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions across a hybrid cloud environment. Working closely with architects, project managers, and technical teams, you will translate high‑level concepts into practical implementations while championing best practice, innovation, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver end‑to‑end infrastructure solutions for complex, enterprise‑scale projects across a hybrid cloud environment (Azure and on‑premise).
* Act as the technical lead for infrastructure components within projects, collaborating with architects, project managers, developers, and support teams.
* Serve as a subject matter expert across core infrastructure technologies including networking, compute, virtualisation, storage, Microsoft technologies, and cloud.
* Contribute to infrastructure automation through scripting and coding using PowerShell, Python, Bicep, and GitHub.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering infrastructure projects in large, complex, highly regulated hybrid cloud environments.
* Deep knowledge of core infrastructure technologies, including HPE Synergy, HPE SAN, VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft technologies (AD, DNS, DHCP, SQL, MDE, MSCM), and network/firewall components.
* Hands‑on experience with Azure, infrastructure‑as‑code, and automated deployments whilst also having up‑to‑date knowledge and experience with on‑premise technology.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to handle complex challenges and tight deadlines.
